Let Her In strengthens European cooperation in Northern Ireland

The European network Let Her In, based in Spain, held an international meeting in Northern Ireland last week, bringing together organizations, companies, and social stakeholders from several European countries to address the challenges of gender equality, inclusion, and the prevention of violence in the workplace.

The event took place in a particularly significant context following the United Kingdom's confirmation that it will rejoin the Erasmus+ programme from 2027 onwards. This decision marks a new phase in European cooperation after years of limitations resulting from Brexit and opens up new opportunities for knowledge exchange, mobility, and the development of transnational projects with social impact.

The meeting also coincided with particularly turbulent days in Northern Ireland, marked by riots in Belfast following an alleged violent attack. Let Her In emphasized that incidents such as these highlight the importance of strengthening international cooperation and dialogue between regions in order to combat all forms of discrimination, exclusion, and violence, whether based on gender, origin, culture, or race.

During the event, participants shared experiences and initiatives related to promoting equality and inclusion, exchanging tools, methodologies, and strategies to advance safer and more respectful working environments. The meeting also served to identify shared challenges and generate new opportunities for cooperation among European organizations.
