Empowering Voices, Ensuring Sustainability: The JustHer Project Comes to a Close

Empowering Voices, Ensuring Sustainability: The JustHer Project Comes to a Close

While major legal strides have been made for women's rights globally, migrant and refugee women continue to face invisible, systemic barriers to integration. Navigating severe cultural displacement, bureaucratic hurdles, and deep psychological trauma like the "Ulises syndrome," these women need support networks that go far beyond basic language lessons to achieve true autonomy.

What is this resource?

As the JustHer project reaches its conclusion, our consortium has finalised a comprehensive ecosystem of free educational materials such as lesson plans, and other digital tools. This toolkit is specifically designed for adult educators, NGOs, and community leaders to help migrant and refugee women reclaim their narratives, build socio-linguistic skills, and achieve personal emancipation.

How was it developed?

Co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, this resource was co-created over the last two years through a cross-border European consortium spanning Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Ireland. The curriculum integrates real-world testimonies from migrant women with innovative, inclusive storytelling methodologies tested across diverse learning environments.

What does it cover?

Key feature 1: Inclusive Storytelling Frameworks – Methodology for using personal narratives and the stories of "unknown and invisible women" to build empathy, confidence, and connection in the classroom.

Key feature 2: Socio-Linguistic Lesson Plans – Practical teaching tools that combine language acquisition with daily-life adaptation skills, breaking down bureaucratic and cultural barriers.

Key feature 3: Holistic Educator Training & Online Course – Guidance for adult educators on how to address the psychological and social complexities of migration, moving past standard curriculums to foster true trauma-informed spaces.

Who is it for?

Adult Educators & Language Teachers looking for inclusive, empowering teaching methods.

NGO Workers & Integration Officers supporting refugee and migrant populations.

Civil Society Organizations & Policymakers aiming to build more resilient, empathetic support structures for marginalized women.
