Authentic and proven, Ergon is the Piemont’s social organisation working to respond to the protection, health and wellbeing needs of Deaf, hard of hearing, deafened and DeafBlind (D/Deaf) especially in low resource and complex humanitarian settings.
We work to ensure that D/deaf are able to live safely and without fear of stigma, discrimination and abuse in the communication mode of choice; Sign Language, sign supported spoken language, community ethnic sign, aural method and Tactile Our work is encompassed in four key themes: Rights, Livelihoods, Access to Appropriate Technology, Wellbeing. Our programs, devised in partnership with our local partners, cross-fertilise these themes- making them unique, different and importantly – Deaf led!
